Ingredients

  • 2¼ teaspoons (1 packet) active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 Cup warm water (110°F)
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 1½ teaspoon Sea salt
  • 3 Cups All-purpose flour (plus more for dusting)


Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast – Stir the yeast and sugar into warm water in a large bowl. Let sit 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  2. Make the Dough – Add olive oil and salt. Gradually mix in flour. Knead 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  3. Let Rise – Place dough in oiled bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled.
  4. Divide and Rest – Punch down dough, divide into 8 balls, cover, and let rest 15 minutes.
  5. Roll Out – Roll each ball into a 6–7 inch circle, ¼ inch thick.
  6. Cook on Skillet – Heat a dry skillet over medium-high. Cook each pita 1–2 minutes per side until puffed and golden. Flip again if needed.
