Fire up the grill for this mouthwatering Honey Lime Chicken, first seasoned with a dry rub and then glazed in savoy honey lime sauce as they cook. They’re so good, you’ll be amazed at how simple and healthy they are to whip up!

Hey everyone! Today, I’m excited to share another one of my favorite grilling recipes. You all know I’m a huge fan of chicken wings, but I’ve got to admit, for this recipe, I actually prefer the drumsticks. They pair perfectly with wings because they’ve got more meat, making them more satisfying for a meal than just an appetizer. This recipe checks all the boxes: it’s Paleo, Whole30, Gluten Free and Keto friendly.
This dish is perfect for those laid-back barbecue evenings or when you’re just craving some hand to mouth, messy, but can’t put the food down, type of dinner.
Why This Recipe Works:
This chicken is so well-balanced of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. The combination of honey, lime juice, apple cider vinegar, and hot sauce creates a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. Meanwhile, the chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper contribute savory and spicy notes to the dish. For those who enjoy a bit more heat, red pepper flakes are always welcome!

How to Make Grilled Honey Lime Chicken Wings
- To whip up these honey lime chicken wings and drumsticks, start by preheating your grill to medium-high heat.
- While it’s heating up, gather your ingredients for both the dry rub and the honey lime sauce.
- Remember to pat your chicken wings and drumsticks dry with paper towels before seasoning them. This step ensures the seasoning sticks well.
- When making the honey lime sauce, don’t forget to adjust the amount of hot sauce according to your spice preference – you can always add a little more kick if you like it fiery!
- Once everything is prepared, carefully place the seasoned chicken pieces on the grill and let them cook, turning occasionally to ensure they cook evenly. See our section below on grilling tips!
- When it’s time to brush on that mouthwatering honey lime sauce, be generous with it! The caramelization from the sauce adds a great char and a sweetness and tanginess! mmmm mmmm

I’ve had this honey lime recipe for years and I’m thrilled to share it with you.
