This Apple Pie Quick Bread has all the flavors of apple pie … apples, cinnamon, and brown sugar only it isn’t a pie – it’s a quick bread. What does that mean? Less work with all the taste!

We are huge bread fans in our house. I simply love the smell of it baking in the oven, especially during Fall. If you love baking bread too, please check out our Braided Brioche Bread. It is especially for those die hard bread makers as it is an overnight process, but so worth it!
But let’s get to our quick bread, shall we?
Why This Recipe Works
Hands down, you can’t go wrong with a homemade bread recipe that yields amazing flavor and can be ready to go in under about an hours time. It’s perfect to eat any time of day, but it’s also great to share or bring as a gift. I mean, who doesn’t love getting homemade bread?
Ingredients

Most quick breads are a standard recipe of mixing wet ingredients with dry and baking, this quick bread is no exception. However, it does have a crunchy, sweet and delicious topping, so a third step is required.
- For the dry ingredients, you’ll need flour, cinnamon powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- The wet ingredients are large eggs, oil, milk, and vanilla extract.
- And for the streusel topping, you’ll gather cold cubed butter, sugar, cinnamon, flour, and chopped pecans.

(Apples will be added close to last. Granny Smith Apples typically work best for this recipe. See FAQs for other apple suggestions.)
How to Make Apple Pie Quick Bread:
Use these easy-to-follow instructions for making this amazing homemade bread recipe (Full recipe card below).
- In a large bowl, fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix them together. Add the diced apples (last) and gently whisk everything together.

- Pour the apple bread batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Sprinkle the prepared crumble on top and bake.

How to Make the Streusel Topping:
A streusel topping is simply a sweet, crumbly mixture of flour, sugar and small cold pieces of butter. Other flavorings like cinnamon or nutmeg can be added, as well as nuts. This topping can be used to top many baked goods, not just this quick bread. Coffee cake is the first thing that comes to my mind! But it can also top muffins and cakes.

Recipe FAQs
Why is my streusel topping not crumbly? There are two primary reasons for non-crumbly streusel topping – either the butter was too warm or the ingredients were overmixed.
What other apples can be used besides Granny Smith? Other apples good for baking are red delicious, golden delicious, pink lady, and honey crisp.

Cinnamon Streusel:

- 2 Tbsp White Sugar
- 0.5 oz butter
- â…“ Cup Chopped Pecans
- ½ teaspoon CinnamonÂ
Â
For the Quick Bread:
- 2 Eggs
- ½ Cup Oil Â
- ½ Cup Whole MilkÂ
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
- ½ Cup Brown Sugar Â
- Âľ Cup White sugar
- 2 ÂĽ cups all-purpose flour Â
- 2 tsp cinnamon powder
- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 large apple, or two small ones, peeled and diced (Granny Smith is most popular)
- ½ tsp salt
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a loaf pan with parchment paper and spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
-
Prepare the crumble by mixing very cold cubed butter with the sugar in a bowl. Use a fork to combine. Then add the cinnamon and flour, and use your hands to achieve a crumbly texture. Finally, add the chopped pecans and combine. Set crumble aside.
-
For the wet ingredients, whisk (or beat) the eggs with the oil, milk, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Add the white and brown sugars, and combine.
-
For the dry ingredients, mix the flour, cinnamon powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
-
Incorporate the dry ingredients with the wet ones.
-
Fold in the diced apples and stir.
-
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, shake it to the sides, and onto the counter, so it bakes evenly.
-
Sprinkle the prepared crumble on top and bake on the center rack in the oven for 60 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
