If you are a Wing Connoisseur like me then you can certainly appreciate and understand how critical the wing sauce is that goes on top of those delicious wings.
The sauce, after all, is 50% of the overall equation. Stinky sauce = stinky wings.
I’ve had these Copy Cat Buffalo Wild Wing recipes in my arsenal for a while now. Are they TRUE Buffalo Wild Wing recipes? I really have no idea but what I can tell you is they are outrageously good sauces that my friends and family all love.
I know true die hard wing people will take offense when I say this, BUT, I prefer to lightly coat my wings in a mixture of flour and a little salt, pepper and garlic mixed it. Shake them off and bake them.
I know frying makes for the perfect wing, but to be honest, we could all use a little less fried foods. I have since come to LOVE baking them.
Here are a few simple tricks to get super crispy wings without the mess and calories of deep frying them:
- First the wings need to be completely thawed (if frozen) and I mean COMPLETELY thawed. Let them come to room temperature for 20 minutes and pat them dry with paper towels. You want as little moisture as possible.
- Try putting the wings on a wire rack as they are baking. The circulation of air will help the wing so it can crisp up on all sides.
- Or you can line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray it will a little oil so the wings don’t stick.
Why deep fry something when baking it and slathering it in hot sauce is just as good?

I keep trolling sites like this trying to find the Captain Morgan wing sauce recipe BW3 used…. any ideas?
I’m confused a bit. You say put all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk together–what about the jalapenos and habaneros? Are we supposed to chop them? Put them in a blender? Emulsion blender? Looking forward to giving these a whirl. Thank you so much for your help.
Agreed! Some of the closest tasting sauces to Buffalo Wild Wings I’ve tried yet. You can always tweak them, but let them cool down. I made a bunch over the weekend and put them in the fridge until I was ready. Even better!

The recipe is more about the sauces, not how you cook them. They are my go to!

Why do you use oil in all of the recipe? Do you cook the medium sauce because of the corn starch?
The Blazin sauce was a total flop. Jalapeno was not a good choice for this sauce.

When you list oil in the ingredients are you talking extra virgin?
yes
How much does the 3x recipe make of these sauces approx. ??
Approximately 3 times what the original recipe yields, give or take.
if you bake them.. how long and for what time do you bake them?
yes
I just tried the mild buffalo sauce, it was amazing. Thank You so much for sharing.

You lost all buffalo wing credibility in the oven. Sorry.
I know baked wings won’t have the same taste and texture as those that were fried, but for the casual at home cook who wants wings on the weekend during the game, these can’t be beat! I hope you’ll try them Jamie. Thanks for your comment, Deb
So fry them – her receipt works for both. Calm down. Really?
